Trump Entertainment Resorts has a new member on the Board of Directors. Ivanka Trump was given the go ahead by the New Jersey Casino Control Commission. She will now have a say in what happens with the three casinos the Board oversees in Atlantic City.

Ivanka Trump was not given special treatment because she is the boss’s daughter. She was given temporary approval to serve on the Board in July as the state of New Jersey ran a standard investigation into her background and finances was being completed. All wannabe casino board members must go through the background check according to state law.

“I've been on the Board for several months now and this is an opportunity to continue to contribute. The company is at a point where we need to make a lot of important decisions and I bring a voice of a different generation and also a female voice to the debate.” said the daughter of Donald and Ivana Trump. In addition to her new role on the Board of Directors, Ivanka Trump also serves as Vice President of Development and Acquisitions for Trump Organization LLC. Real estate holdings, golf courses and the Trump hotels all fall under her control.

The former runway model graduated from one of the nation’s most prestigious business schools, the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. She also has taken a role in her father’s reality show The Apprentice, which has celebrities going head to head for charities this season. Ivanka Trump is twenty-six years old.
